Overview

A mailbox’s send limit controls how many emails Unify can send from it in 24 hours. All sequences using that mailbox share its capacity. The sequence’s send schedule determines when those emails may send. New Unify-managed mailboxes default to 25 sends per day. New connected work mailboxes default to 50. Existing mailboxes can have different limits, so check the value in mailbox settings when planning outreach.

Set a mailbox’s limit

A workspace administrator can change mailbox limits. Where your workspace allows users to adjust their own limits, the maximum is bounded by the administrator’s setting.
1

Open the mailbox

Go to Settings → Mailboxes and select the sending address.
2

Adjust the limit

Under Advanced, set the Mailbox send limit, then click Save. The setting shows whether this mailbox overrides the workspace default. The standard maximum is 150 sends per 24 hours.
Administrators can review the workspace default in Settings → Sequences under Deliverability. Raising a limit increases potential volume. Consider the mailbox’s history, recipient quality, and recent delivery results before making a change.

Warmup and ramp-up

Warmup prepares a new Unify-managed mailbox for outreach. Allow about three weeks and review the estimated completion date in mailbox settings. Unify manages this process and its ongoing deliverability work. Ramp-up gradually increases a mailbox’s sending capacity toward its configured limit. Where ramp-up is enabled, a new mailbox starts at zero, while an existing mailbox starts from its previous daily limit. Capacity increases by five sends per day until it reaches the configured limit. Increasing the maximum can restart ramp-up. The warmup status helps explain the mailbox’s current readiness: Check the current daily send limit when it is shown. A mailbox ramping toward 25 sends per day may have less capacity today.

Understand the queue

Enrolling someone in a sequence schedules their work. An email becomes eligible to send after its preceding steps and delays, during an allowed sending window, and when the mailbox has capacity. Follow-up emails use capacity alongside first touches. For example, two sequences sharing a mailbox with a limit of 25 sends per day share those 25 sends. A mailbox group can distribute new enrollments across several mailboxes. For a delayed email, check the enrollment’s status, the next step and its schedule, then the sending mailbox’s status and capacity. An email awaiting manual approval also needs the assigned user to complete that step. See blocked enrollments for recovery instructions. Use the Email backlog dashboard to compare queued email with sending capacity across your workspace and find mailboxes that need attention.

Protect deliverability

Use limits that fit your outreach and the mailbox’s readiness. For connected work mailboxes, also consider email sent directly and through other tools. Review bounces and replies as volume changes, and contact Unify support if Unify-managed mailboxes develop persistent delivery problems.
