Overview
A send schedule defines the days and hours when automated sequence emails can send. It uses a selected time zone and can skip holidays or dates you specify. Reuse a schedule across sequences that target the same region or need the same sending hours. For example, a West Coast schedule might allow sending Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM, in America/Los Angeles. An email ready outside those hours waits for an available send window. Mailbox sending limits also affect when it sends.Choose a schedule for a sequence
Review the selected schedule when you create a sequence. You can keep it or choose another existing schedule. To change the schedule for a published sequence, open it in the sequence builder and follow the same steps.1
Open sequence settings
Open Settings in the sequence builder. The send schedule selector shows
the schedule currently assigned to the sequence.
2
Choose and review the schedule
Select a schedule, then expand its summary to review the time zone, sending
windows, and skip dates.
3
Save the change
Click Save changes. If Unify asks you to confirm, review the affected
enrollments and click Update. Changing the schedule reschedules unsent
emails for in-progress enrollments.
Create a send schedule
Create a schedule when the existing options do not match your audience’s sending hours. Open Settings → Sequences and select Send schedules.1
Name the schedule and choose a time zone
Click New schedule. Enter a descriptive name, such as “West Coast
weekdays,” and choose the time zone for its sending windows and skip dates.
2
Set the sending windows
Enable each day you want to send and set its start and end times. Click
+ beside a day to add another window, such as separate morning and
afternoon windows. Leave at least one sending window enabled.
3
Choose dates to skip
Use Skip US holidays to exclude the holidays listed in the editor. To
skip another date, choose it in the date picker. Leave Repeats annually
enabled for a yearly exclusion, or turn it off for a one-time date. Click
Add date for additional dates.
4
Create and apply the schedule
Click Create. The schedule appears in the list and is available in
sequence settings. Choose it for the sequences
that should use these sending hours.
Update a shared schedule
From the send schedules list, open a schedule to edit it. Administrators can edit any schedule, including the workspace default. Other users can edit the custom schedules they created. Changing a schedule’s time zone, windows, or skip dates affects the sequences that use it, including their active enrollments. Click Update and review the affected sequences before confirming. To give one sequence different hours, create a separate schedule and assign it to that sequence.Schedules, delays, and sending limits
These controls work together to determine email timing:- A delay sets how long to wait between sequence steps.
- The send schedule determines the permitted email sending windows after that wait.
- The mailbox’s sending limits determine how much email it can send within those windows.
