Overview
The email backlog dashboard helps you identify when queued email exceeds your mailboxes’ sending capacity. Use it to find overloaded mailboxes and decide whether to redistribute enrollments or add capacity. Open Insights → Email backlog.Read backlog health
The summary brings together the queue and the capacity available to send it:
Each mailbox’s clearance estimate is rounded up to whole days. For
example, a mailbox with 120 queued emails and a daily limit of 50 contributes a
three-day estimate. New enrollments, send schedules, and changes in mailbox
availability can change how long sending actually takes.
The dashboard marks one day or less as healthy, two to four days as a warning,
and five or more days as critical. Review the affected mailboxes as the estimate
grows.
Compare demand and capacity
Choose a date preset to review backlog trends. The charts compare queued email and new email added to the backlog with active and total sending limits. A gap between active and total capacity can indicate available mailboxes that your current enrollments are not using. Before increasing a limit, review sending limits and warmup. An email can also be waiting on approval, an enrollment condition, or a send schedule. Inspect the enrollment when a specific message is delayed.Resolve a capacity shortage
Below the charts, the dashboard groups options under Actions to resolve backlog issues. Choose the action that fits the affected workflows:- Create more mailboxes: review mailboxes with high volume and add sending capacity if the existing mailboxes are fully used. Allow new mailboxes to complete warmup before relying on them for outreach.
- Use mailbox groups: distribute new enrollments among the eligible mailboxes in a mailbox group. Review the group’s membership and where plays use it.
- Reassign sequence enrollments: find sequences with queued enrollments and use Reassign enrollments to open their reassignment flow. Review the selected enrollments and destination sender before confirming.
