Overview

Lookalikes help you find companies similar to customers or other accounts that fit your target market. Choose a set of seed companies, then use a play to find similar companies and act on them. For example, add the results to a list for review or prospect for people at each company. Unify manages the Ocean.io integration, so you can configure the trigger without connecting a separate Ocean.io account. Each lookalike company that enters the play uses 0.5 credits. Additional play actions have their own credit costs.

Set up a lookalike play

Choose the trigger

Create a play from scratch and select Find lookalike companies as its trigger. Give the play a name that describes the accounts you want to find.

Select seed companies

Add filters to select companies already in Unify. You might use a customer list, CRM account criteria, or a combination of company attributes. Review the matching companies in the preview, then click Next.

Refine the results

Set the maximum number of lookalikes per seed company and the minimum relevance. A higher relevance setting narrows the results to closer matches. Add company-size, country, or industry filters to focus on your target market. Advanced filters cover funding rounds, revenue, and founding year.Choose a seed company in the preview to inspect its sample results. Review the exclusions applied to the trigger, then click Done.

Add actions and publish

Add the play actions you want to run for each matching company. For example, use Add to list to collect accounts before starting outreach. Review the completed workflow, then click Publish to activate it.

How results enter the play

The trigger checks for seed companies every 30 minutes and searches for lookalikes using your result filters. Processing a large set of seed companies can take longer than one check interval. Unify applies the trigger’s enabled exclusions before starting play executions. Excluded companies do not enter the play or incur the lookalike credit charge. A company that has already entered the same play is skipped, including when it matches another seed company. Open the play’s Logs to review executions and the actions performed for each company. Troubleshooting

The seed filters select existing Unify companies. Check that your list or criteria matches at least one company before proceeding to result filters.
The per-seed setting is a maximum. Available company data, relevance, result filters, exclusions, and companies already processed by the play can reduce the number of new executions. Try another seed company or broaden the result filters if the preview is too narrow.
