Overview

Book rankings define the signals Unify uses to prioritize accounts in your book of business. For example, you might prioritize companies visiting your pricing page and give less priority to companies with a hiring freeze. Administrators create shared rankings and apply them to engagement policies. Each policy determines which ranking its members use and how much they can customize it. This lets teams use priorities suited to the accounts they work.

How signals affect priority

Each signal describes a condition to look for in a company or person. Matching positive signals increase priority, while matching negative signals reduce it. Arrange signals from most to least important within each group. Signals contribute to the account’s ranking alongside fit, timing, research, and engagement history. Review the account’s intel to understand the context behind its position in your book. A signal’s Active for setting determines how long a detected match affects ranking. Choose a shorter duration for fleeting interest and a longer duration for changes that remain relevant, such as a recent funding round. Some signals also have an activity window: “three pricing-page visits in the last 30 days” defines what counts as a match, while an active duration of seven days controls how long that match contributes to ranking.

Create a shared ranking

You need administrator permissions to manage shared rankings. Open Settings → Book rankings.
1

Name the ranking

Click Book ranking, or Create book ranking if this is your first one. Give it a name that describes its purpose, such as “Outbound priorities.”
2

Choose your signals

Click Add signal and choose how to define it:Name the signal and describe why it matters. Choose positive or negative impact, set its active duration, and complete the criteria. Click Add signal to include it in the ranking. Repeat for the other signals you need.Website and product-usage signals depend on the activity available in Unify. Use criteria that match the data your workspace collects.
3

Order and save the signals

Drag signals into priority order within the positive and negative groups. Keep at least one signal, then click Create ranking. The ranking appears in settings. Apply it to a policy to use it for a team.

Apply a ranking to a team

Create and publish the team’s engagement policy before assigning its ranking. You need permission to manage engagement policies.
1

Choose the policy

In book-ranking settings, open the ranking’s options menu and choose Apply to policy. Select the team’s policy.
2

Set personal customization

Choose how members can adjust the ranking for their own books:
3

Apply the ranking

Click Apply to policy. The ranking is assigned to the policy’s members, and its card shows how many policies use it. You can apply the same ranking to additional policies or create separate rankings for teams with different priorities.

Customize your ranking

Your team’s policy controls the changes available to you. Personal changes apply to your own book.
1

Open your ranking

Open your book of business and click Customize book ranking above the table. If the control says View book ranking, your policy allows you to review the signals only.
2

Adjust your priorities

Drag signals to change their order within each group. If your policy allows full customization, you can also add a signal, click one to edit it, or remove one. Keep at least one signal in the ranking.
3

Save your changes

Click Save. Unify refreshes your ranking in the background, so the account order may take time to reflect your changes.

Maintain a shared ranking

Open a ranking in settings to edit its name or signals, then click Update ranking. Updates apply to policies using that ranking. Members retain personal changes allowed by their policy as shared signals are updated, added, or removed. Assigning a different ranking replaces those personal settings with the new ranking’s signals. To retire a ranking, open its options menu and choose Archive. Archiving removes it from active policies that use it. Apply a replacement ranking to those policies if their members should continue using configured signals.

Questions

Ask your administrator to check that you belong to an active engagement policy with a ranking assigned. An archived ranking is removed from its policies and needs to be replaced.
Ranking refreshes run in the background. A signal also needs matching data or research before it can affect priority. Review the account’s intel and remember that fit, timing, and engagement history contribute to its position alongside your configured signals.
