Overview
Your team’s engagement policy determines which accounts you can work in Unify. It uses account ownership and your team’s prospecting criteria to decide whether you can take ownership of a company or contact its people. These are two separate permissions. Claiming assigns an account to you and adds it to your book of business. Engagement includes creating tasks, enrolling people in sequences, and making outbound calls. Your team may let you contact an account without claiming it, require you to claim it first, or restrict both actions.Review your team’s rules
Open your book of business and click the graduation-cap icon in the page header, labeled What accounts can I work? when you hover over it. The summary shows your policy’s name, the ownership field that defines your book, and the rules for each group of accounts:
Click Next to review examples of the messages you will see while working,
then review the exclusions that apply to your team. Each exclusion lists its
behavior separately for claiming and engagement.
Check a specific account
Open a company to see its engagement status near the company name. For example, a company may belong to another rep or match an exclusion for existing customers. When Explain appears beside a restriction, click it to open a chat explaining why the restriction applies to that company. An exclusion can apply even when an account belongs to you or otherwise matches your team’s prospecting criteria. For example, a policy might allow you to work companies in your territory while blocking outreach to existing customers within that territory. When several rules apply, the most restrictive rule determines whether you can complete the action.Respond to a restriction
Unify checks the action you are taking and shows any restriction before you continue. Use the reason shown to decide what to do next.
When asking for help, share the company, the action you were trying to take, and
the restriction shown. Your administrator can review the team’s
engagement policy and its
ownership field, eligibility criteria, and exclusions.
