## Overview

Sequence results show how people respond to your outreach and where they finish
or stop progressing. Start with the overall results, then inspect individual
steps and replies to decide what to change.

Open a sequence from [Sequences](https://app.unifygtm.com/dashboard/sequences).
The performance cards summarize engagement, while the enrollment cards show
how many people are in progress or finished. Click a card to see the matching
people in the table.

## Compare the same audience

Use the filters above the cards to narrow results by the play that enrolled
people, mailbox assignee, sending mailbox, sequence version, or enrollment
start date. These filters apply across the sequence's results and tabs.

For example, after publishing revised messaging, select the new version to
review its results separately. Give people time to receive the later steps
before comparing that version with an older one that has finished running.

## Read the performance cards

The main rates measure enrollment outcomes. Each enrollment contributes once
to a metric even if the person opens several emails or clicks several links.

| Metric | What it measures |
| - | - |
| Reply rate | Enrollments with a recorded direct or out-of-thread reply. |
| Open rate | Enrollments with at least one recorded email open. Open tracking must be enabled to collect opens. |
| Click rate | Enrollments with at least one recorded link click. |
| Opt-out rate | Enrollments that ended with an opt-out. |

These rates use the combined count of started enrollments, blocked enrollments
that have completed a step, and completed enrollments. Queued and paused
enrollments are outside this denominator, as are finished enrollments marked
bounced or bounce stopped. As a result, dividing replies by the total enrollment
count can give a different percentage from the reply-rate card.

### Positive replies and objections

Within the reply-rate card, the smaller percentages show the share of replies
in each category:

* Positive includes replies classified as positive in tone, willing to meet,
  or asking for more information.
* Positive + Objection also includes replies about bad timing or an existing
  solution.

A reply with several tags belongs to one reporting category. Automated replies
are categorized first, followed by positive replies and then objections. For
example, a reply asking for more information and mentioning bad timing counts
as positive. See [Reply classifications](/reference/sequences/replies#reply-classifications)
for the individual tags.

### Opens and clicks

Use opens and clicks alongside the actual replies when evaluating a sequence.
Open tracking depends on the recipient's email client loading a tracking pixel.
A recorded open alone cannot establish interest in your offer.

If the open-rate card says **Tracking is off**, review the sequence's
[ruleset](/reference/sequences/rulesets). Changing tracking settings affects
future emails; it cannot add a tracking pixel to emails already sent.

## Compare individual steps

Open **Steps** to see performance beside each step. Email steps show delivered,
replied, opened, clicked, opted-out, bounced, and bounce-stopped counts.
The reply, open, click, and opt-out percentages on an email step use that step's
delivered count as their denominator.

<ThemedImageFrame lightSrc="/images/reference/sequences/sequence-step-results-light.png" darkSrc="/images/reference/sequences/sequence-step-results-dark.png" alt="The Steps tab with delivery and response metrics beside an automatic email." />

Use these results to locate where responses occur. A strong first email with
few replies to later steps may call for a different follow-up or timing.
Check the [replies](/reference/sequences/replies) for context before revising
the sequence.

## Investigate stalled outreach

The enrollment cards explain how much outreach has progressed. Open the
matching [enrollments](/reference/sequences/enrollments) to investigate a
blocked mailbox, missing personalization, exclusions, or an early ending.
A completed enrollment may have ended because the person replied or opted out
after a step ran.

For upcoming emails, inspect **Outbox** and review the
[send schedule](/reference/sequences/send-schedules) and
[mailbox limits](/reference/deliverability/mailbox-configuration).
