## Overview

Agentic sequences use instructions to write emails and task notes for each
person. Use them when your outreach needs more individual context than a name
or company field: for example, an introduction based on the person's role and
the account research available in Unify.

Start by describing the outreach you want in chat. Unify creates a sequence
with steps, delays, and prompts for the content. When you add people, it
generates their drafts in an enrollment queue. You review the content and
approve each person before their sequence begins.

Connect a [sending mailbox](/reference/deliverability/mailbox-configuration)
before generating recipient drafts. Your sequence's
[ruleset](/reference/sequences/rulesets) and any
[engagement policy](/reference/engagement-policies/engagement-policies) also determine
which people you can enroll.

## Create your sequence

<Steps>
  <Step title="Describe your outreach">
    Open [chat](https://app.unifygtm.com/dashboard/chat) and describe the audience,
    the reason for reaching out, and the follow-up you want. Include the step
    types, delays, tone, and information that should shape each person's content.

    For example:

    > Create an agentic sequence named “Research-led introductions” for revenue
    > operations leaders. Introduce Unify using verified role and company
    > information, then follow up two days later. Keep each email brief and direct.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the template">
    Open the sequence card in chat to inspect its steps and example content.
    The template preview illustrates how the sequence reads. Recipient drafts
    use the information available for each person you add.

    Click **Edit template** to adjust prompts, steps, or delays. Use
    **Show preview** to switch from a step's instructions to its example content.
    Publish your changes when the template is ready.

  </Step>

  <Step title="Generate recipient drafts">
    Ask chat to prepare drafts for the people you want to contact and specify
    the sending mailbox. For example: “Prepare drafts in Research-led
    introductions for Taylor Morgan using my connected mailbox.”
    Unify checks their eligibility and generates personalized content for the
    enrollment queue.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review and enroll">
    Select a person in the queue and review their emails and task notes.
    Confirm that the sender, recipient, and personalization are correct.
    Edit the content directly or ask chat for a specific revision.

    When the content is ready, click **Enroll in sequence**. To approve several
    people together, select their drafts and click **Enroll selected**. Approval
    starts their enrollments; automatic emails follow the sequence's
    [send schedule](/reference/sequences/send-schedules).

  </Step>
</Steps>

## Follow up on enrolled people

Open the sequence to track [enrollments](/reference/sequences/enrollments),
complete [tasks](/reference/tasks/overview), and handle
[replies](/reference/sequences/replies). Each person's enrollment shows their
progress through the sequence.
