# Replies

> Compare reply rates and understand response quality.

## Overview

Available only on Pro and Business plans.

The replies dashboard shows how people respond to sequence outreach. Use reply
rates to compare results and classification tags to understand the responses.
Open [**Insights → Replies**](https://app.unifygtm.com/dashboard/analytics/lagging/replies).

To read and respond to replies while working a sequence, see
[Manage replies](https://docs.unifygtm.com/reference/sequences/replies.md).

The replies dashboard showing reply rates and response classifications.

## Understand reply rates

Reply rates use sequence enrollments with at least one completed step. Each
eligible enrollment counts once. Enrollments canceled, bounced, or stopped for an
invalid email address are excluded unless they received a reply.

| Metric | Calculation |
| - | - |
| Reply rate | Enrollments that received a reply divided by eligible enrollments. |
| Positive rate | Enrollments with a positive reply divided by eligible enrollments. |
| Positive and objection rate | Enrollments with a positive reply or objection divided by eligible enrollments. |

The dashboard groups these enrollments by their start date.
Out-of-office responses are excluded from reply metrics. Allow time for active
enrollments to finish before comparing a recent period with an earlier one.

## Understand classifications

A reply can have several tags, such as **Willing to meet**, **Needs more info**,
or **Bad timing**. Unify assigns it to one classification for the chart, using
this order:

1. **Automated:** an automated response or bounce.
2. **Positive:** positive tone, willingness to meet, or a request for more information.
3. **Objection:** bad timing or an existing solution.
4. **Negative:** negative tone, an opt-out, or inappropriate content.
5. **Neutral:** the remaining replies, including referrals and updated contact information.

For example, a reply tagged with both **Needs more info** and **Bad timing** counts
as positive. The individual tags remain visible in the table so you can understand
the full response.

## Filter and compare responses

Use the include and exclude tag filters to investigate a type of response. A reply
matches the include filter if it has any selected tag. A reply with any excluded
tag is omitted. These filters narrow the replies counted in the rates while
keeping the eligible enrollment population as the denominator.

Use **Source** to compare outreach from recommended prospects, chat (including
scheduled chats), plays, direct enrollment, or other sources. Direct enrollment
includes API and bulk enrollments. This filter narrows both replies and the
eligible enrollments used to calculate rates, and also applies to exports.
Source attribution can overlap, so source totals may not add up to the overall
total.

The replies dashboard with the Source menu open to compare outreach origins.

Use the user filter to limit the report to mailboxes assigned to selected users.
Use **Pivot by** to choose a play, sequence, or user, then select the group whose
metrics you want to inspect.

The table shows the person, classification tags, reply content, sequence, and
reply date. Open a reply to read the message, or use **Export** to download the
report with its classification tags.
